Julia Machinshok 

NEPA Pride Coalition is thrilled to announce Julia E. Machinshock as Secretary to the Board of Directors.

Born and raised in NEPA, Julia brings over a decade of experience within the Human Services field to the board of NEPA Pride Coalition. A graduate of Luzerne County Community College with an associates of science in Human Services, Julia has worked to be a voice for those struggling with mental health and substance use disorders as well as working to aid those in the local community with a diagnosis of intellectual disabilities. Julia is currently employed as the lead counselor at a local inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility. She enjoys learning and growing within her role.

Julia also enjoys spending time with her husband and children as well as trips to the beach.

Julia’s main goal in her career remains to be a face for anyone struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders, thus showing that recovery is possible and that everyone deserves to know that they are worth it.

Julia brings not only professional, but personal experience and knowledge of the difficulties that people face when navigating treatment avenues.

Taking note of the lack of support and affirming services for the local LGBTQIA+ community, Julia looks forward to working hand in hand with NEPA Pride Coalition to be a voice for anyone who may be in need.
