A Bit About Me
Jonathan D. Bates, MPA "J.D." is NEPA Pride Coalition’s Director of Community Relations. J.D has been with the Coalition since Spring of 2023 as our Special Events Coordinator and we are very excited for him to be taking on this new and more involved role.
J.D. believes that good mental health is the cornerstone to a fulfilling and meaningful life. He is dedicated to serving marginalized and underserved communities, a passion which began with his service in the United States Peace Corps, teaching high school chemistry in Mozambique from 2007-2009.
J.D. is currently employed by Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health and Developmental Services as the Fiscal Director. J.D. holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and a Master in Public Service & Administration from the George Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
He lives in Scranton, PA with his adorable Basset Hound. We are lucky to have him onboard and look forward to the work ahead.
